Thank you for joining today as we seek God’s wisdom together. Let us begin with prayer.
“Lord Jesus, I ask that you search our hearts and see if there be anything wicked in them. We ask that your Holy Spirit show us what you are saying to us today. I ask that the words on this page would jump out to us as you speak to our hearts and minds truth and life. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Romans 3: 27-31 (NASB).
“Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 28For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one. 31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? Far from it! On the contrary, we establish the Law.”
What the Word is Saying
Paul continues his explanation of what Jesus did in fulfilling the atonement for the people on the mercy seat. He established that the price for our sin has been paid by Jesus’s blood spread on the mercy seat to atone for our sins. Then by faith we also believe by faith send our sins were sent with his body to His death never to return. Therefore, the transaction is faith based. Whereas the Jews would provide a lamb for the atonement and a lamb to carry the sins to the wilderness. The Christian by faith believes that Christ did this for them at the cross. Then Paul turns his attention to the Jewish believer.
“Where then is boasting (Romans 3:27)? Paul asks rhetorically the Jewish believer. Contrary to the Torah, faith alone can restore the believer to the presence of God. There is no other way to the Father. So, circumcision or uncircumcision is of no value. Whether Jew or Gentile only faith will restore humanity to the pre-fall of man condition allowing God’s presence to dwell among men and women.

I pray that God will send His Holy Spirit into our lives anew and fill us again with His love and His purpose for us. So that we can fulfill the mission He left us in bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world.
